Although football is a game which is played all over the world, the NFL has the highest professional level as well as being one of the highest paying football leagues. The NFL is made up of four smaller leagues in America, to create one national league in which each team plays 16 games through out the season. When the main season is over, six teams from each league will progress to the playoffs, which ultimately results in the Super Bowl which is possibly the biggest sports match on the American calendar.

This type of bet also gives the underdog team an advantage before the game even begins.  A Point Spread bet works on the average and who is the favourite to win the match. So if the cowboys and the giants are playing each other, and the game has a 3 point spread, the underdog will be awarded 3 points before the game even begins. This means that if the giants are set to win they will have to win by more than 3 points for you to win the bet of you betted on them.

Totals

This is a bet placed on the total outcome of the game or the scores that each team will end up with. Also known as Over/Under bet, the number is produced or created by the oddsmaker based on how they think the game will play out. The place your bet, you have to guess whether the total number of points from both teams combined will be over or under what the oddsmaker predicted
